SouthEast Area Teachers of Mathematics

SouthEast Area Teachers of Mathematics (SEATM) is an affiliate of NCTM serving Louisiana members in the three parish area of Washington, Tangipahoa, and St. Tammany. The group received its charter in the spring of 1998. Each year, the organization plans a spring conference that has a social hour followed by a featured speaker. Members receive newsletter notifications with access to an on-line newsletter about events, both past and future, along with encouragement, innovative lessons, LATM and NCTM news, and meeting dates. Electronic mail and the internet serve as vital conduits of communication in this organization. The officers and current members are working hard to make SEATM successful and available to all interested participants in K-College mathematics education.
